Reception & Year 1
Year 1 & Year 2
Structure of the class:
The classes are fun and imaginative. Basic dance technique will be taught in a creative way with use of a variety of music, props and stories.
First Position (Reception & Year 1) – The main focus is to continue to build confidence and the basics in both ballet and tap. Introduce stage/performance experience and start to develop skills remembering steps linked together.
Second Position (Year 2 & Year 3) – Broadening our ballet and tap technique, expanding on our stage/performance experience and continue to build confidence. Increase our understanding of choreography and special awareness.
The class content runs along-side the RAD and ISTD syllabus but is not an exam class nor will exam syllabus be covered. All movement is structured so that the children progress at a speed they are comfortable with. The class will also work towards learning a short dance routine in one of the styles of dance.
At the end of each term a short performance/show will be held. This will happen at your usual time and location. No extra rehearsals are required. All visitors (family and friends) are welcome to come and watch. More information about this will be provided closer to the time.
